I had to take another look at Kelly's account when I looked to see how Cultured was doing. I couldn't believe they have had 2377 total opt-ins in just 4 weeks. I've never seen this type of adoption rate so I called her up to ask what she was doing and it's really pretty simple...here's what she said:
"We have setup our opt-in system to be on the iPads that my staff are using to check our customers out at the register. The first thing that my staff is required to do upon receiving a new customer is ask if they'd like to be a part of our loyalty program. We briefly explain it, and then ask for a cell phone number. It's worked great! Thank you!"
That's it!! Pretty simple really, BUT the key to her success is her staff members are ASKING their customers if they would like to be a part of their loyalty program. It's all about the interaction.
I've been in several customer's stores now and watched the behavior of people and from what I've seen, about 2 out of 10 people will join without someone asking them to join and about 8 out of 10 will join if someone simply asks them to. If at all possible, make it a requirement for your staff members to ask each customer if they want to join and you'll see a huge increase in opt-ins. You might just print out a small note and tape it to the register to help remind your staff to ASK.
There's power in numbers. The more you have the more you can do. You shouldn't feel bad asking for opt-ins...you're giving your customers a FREE service and rewarding them for shopping with you, so asking for their number and sending them coupons and pertinent information about your store is a good thing!

If you are trying to launch the Kiosk Browser on your tablet and are getting a white screen, it probably means you do not have a connection to the internet.
If this is the case, first restart the wireless router. Just unplug it, then wait 10 seconds and plug it back in. Wait about 2-3 minutes, then try to launch the Kiosk Browser again from the main menu. You can also, click on settings, then wifi and look to make sure there is an actual 'connection' to the wifi. If you've done all of the above and it's still not working, please contact email@example.com or vox us on voxer.
A great way to get new members is to promote a Text to Win (T2W) using the tablets. We can set-up your campaign to randomly pick winners every Nth opt in. For example, every time the 10th person joins, they get a 'winner' message. For all of those who join, but did not win, they too get a message, but it's a thanks for trying message. Each person who enters to win, becomes a new contact in your database. We now offer the ability to add a coupon code to an auto-engage message. This is a SUPER tool because you are able to track how many people are getting the auto-engage messages (those messages that go out only to those who have NOT checked-in in X amount of days) and how many of those are actually bringing the text message with the coupon back to your store. I highly recommend you take advantage of this new feature!!
