So here's the deal...I've been doing LSM (Local Store Marketing) for over six years now using SMS as the primary tool.  I started a company, sold a company, worked for the company I sold to and now have launched another company all in the last six years.  I will tell you, I have learned a ton and now want to offer a simple solution to those who struggle with social media, SMS, email, etc. 

It can be really overwhelming with all the options businesses have to communicate with their customers, that's why I created OptSpot. OptSpot is basically an Option Spot or you could call it an Opportunity Spot, but whatever you call it doesn't really matter as much as how it works.  

I found after working with thousands of businesses the one common thread of those who have been successful with LSM are those who IMPLEMENT. It really doesn't matter what product or service you provide or how much it costs, even if it's free. If you don't implement, it will never work.  I see over and over again franchisees and business owners who are busy running day to day operations just trying to keep their heads above water, let alone trying to learn a new marketing strategy.  That is where OptSpot comes in. 



It's very simple.  There's no marketing material to print, no hassling customers trying to talk them into pulling out their phones to Opt-In to a text campaign, scan a QR code or fill out some form on a website. All you need to do is put our Kiosk Tablet on your counter and give your customers the Option on how they want you to communicate with them. Personally, I strongly recommend offering them the option to simply enter their phone number to 'Join the Club'.  When they do this, they are basically giving you their most coveted piece of personal information, their mobile phone number!


Once you have their number, you gain their confidence by connecting with your customer and treating them right.  After you take care of them and gain their trust, you create a loyal customer and drive business when you want to drive it.  So the question becomes, "why would someone give you their phone number to join a club?". Well, people love incentives and FREE things.  You now have to think about what you're willing to give up in return for the coveted phone number. For example, you could possibly offer a percentage off their order or offer something for FREE or maybe have them join the club for a chance to WIN a FREE Lunch or Dinner.  (Remember the fish bowl with biz cards....well this pretty much replaces it and it's all automated...easy easy easy!) 


I guess the question becomes, what's the value of a customer's phone number?  That's going to be up to you.  I do know 98% of text messages are read and I do know, at least in the QSR space, there's about a 10% average redemption rate on text message offers, so what does that mean to you?  You'll have to figure that one out for yourself, but to me it all becomes a numbers game. If you have 1000 people Opt In to your club and you send out a text, you can count on 980 customers seeing your text. Of those 980, 10% or 98 of them will actually redeem your offer.  Now of course this all depends on the offer you send.  


Do you always have to send an offer?  Nope.  It's actually good to just send out information from time to time. And with our system, you can actually send out reminders to customers based off how often they come to your store. For instance, if a customer 'Checks-In' today and then doesn't come back for 3 weeks, our system can send them a personalized text inviting them back in your store.  It can say something like 'Hey Joe, we miss you at ABC company.  Come see us today for a FREE soda pop!'. How awesome is that?!?! Finally a system that works for you automatically based off frequency. You can worry about the books and let us worry about growing your business!


Now here's the kicker.  This isn't just about SMS.  It's about a database and what you can do with it.  If you're a Facebooker or Twitterer, then great!  Just send out a text to your group, asking them to like you or follow you.  It's that simple. With every single phone out there having the capability to text message, there's not a better way to get your message across to your customers. Maybe you just want to let them know about a new product...again shoot them a text right from your phone, just like you would a normal text or email. Database in any business is extremely valuable, so why not start collecting numbers now and do it with ease!  There's so much more you can do, like surveys, feedback, email, text to wins, tracking code redemptions, etc.,  but I don't want to overwhelm you with options.
